Start Generating PRCs Today.
The NSW PRCs for batteries incentive is now live for residential and small business battery installations.
PDRS Battery Incentive.
This new incentive sits under the existing Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS), a NSW Government program that sits parallel to the NSW Energy Savings Scheme (ESS). The PDRS has included Residential Battery installations as an eligible technology if installed after 1 November 2024.
BESS1 & BESS2.
For eligible installations, Accredited Certificate Providers (ACPs) such as Ecovantage can create PRCs where an eligible battery is installed at a home (BESS1&2) or small business (BESS1 only) with existing Solar PV, or at the same time as Solar PV is being installed.

Battery Incentive Calculator.
The following PDRS Battery Incentive Calculator has been designed to give installers an idea of the final incentive value Ecovantage are able to provide, based on the number of PRCs created under the scheme, for an eligible battery under the PDRS.
Use the simple slider to select the battery capacity to see the final incentive value. You can toggle on the additional incentive for batteries that are going to be connected to a VPP and are eligible under the PDRS.

Certificates Available Under this Scheme.
Peak Reduction Certificates (PRCs) are tradable certificates under the NSW Government’s Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS).
1 PRC represents 0.1 kilowatts of peak demand reduction capacity, averaged over one hour during the peak summer period.
This aims to encourage peak energy use reduction within peak demand times, to reduce pressure on the electricity grid and in turn reduce energy prices.
At Ecovantage, we consistently analyse market activity, creation metrics, policy changes, and consultation releases in conjunction with wider landscape activity. Below is the weekly price tracking of PRC prices.
