Hume Homes Set for Low Cost Electrification with Incentives & Rebates

All Electric Homes are partnering with Hume City Council and Yarra Energy Foundation to deliver well over 100 electrified energy upgrades under the Hume Home Energy Upgrades program.

Ecovantage works alongside All Electric Homes as an Accredited Provider to enable households access to incentives through state and federal energy saving schemes.

A Proactive Program.

The Hume Home Energy Upgrades program helps residents in the City of Hume make their homes more comfortable and energy efficient. Hume’s aim is to make it easy and cost-effective for residents to improve their home’s energy performance – saving them money, improving their comfort and health, and reducing carbon emissions.

Electrification upgrades available under this great initiative include hot water heat pumps, reverse cycle air conditioning, induction cooktops, and rooftop solar PV – all of which will be delivered by the team at All Electric Homes.

Installs, Incentives & Initiatives.

Under this great program, installations are fully managed by All Electric Homes, one of Victoria’s leading energy efficiency installation companies. They specialise in converting homes to be all-electric, high efficiency homes, replacing gas appliances to reduce emissions, increase property value, and save money on bills.

Electrification upgrades made through All Electric Homes often come with up front discounts thanks to the incentives which are made available by Ecovantage, and the rebates by All Electric Homes and Hume City Council.

STC Incentive.

Eligible residents undertaking electrification upgrades are supported by up-front incentives thanks to Ecovantage.

The federal government’s Renewable Energy Target (RET) scheme, which aims to promote the uptake of renewable energy sources, allows Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) to be created for hot water, air conditioning and solar PV installations. These certificates are generated by Ecovantage and turned into up-front discounts for Hume residents when upgrading through All Electric Homes.

Solar Victoria Rebate.

The Victorian state government’s Solar Victoria program offers supplementary rebates when installing eligible heat pump hot water systems (up to $1,000) and solar PV (up to $1,400), as well as an interest-free loan of up to $1,400 for solar PV.

Applications are made through Solar Victoria along with a valid quote and can be claimed prior to installation through All Electric Homes.

VEEC Incentive.

Further incentives are available to eligible residents thanks to the energy certificates (Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates) created under the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) scheme run by the Victorian State government. This scheme aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through the implementation of energy efficient technologies and clean energy production. Working alongside All Electric Homes, Ecovantage generates these certificates and incentives for residents upgrading their hot water and space heating systems from gas or electric, and those upgrading from gas to induction cooktops.

Hume Council Concession Rebates.

Hume City Council have taken this program one step further, offering additional rebates for residents with valid concession cards. Up to $1,000 is available for solar PV installations, $900 for reverse cycle air conditioners, and $150 for hot water heat pumps.

The council are also offering an $1,000 concession rebate for roof space insulation, and $400 for draught proofing, both of which can drastically improve energy efficiency within a home. These are being installed by insulation specialists, EnviroFlex.

Low Cost. Loads of Savings.

Once all of these incentives and rebates are stacked together, the up-front cost to upgrade is very low compared to the impressive savings on energy bills each year, especially with increasing energy prices.

As an example, a Hume resident with an eligible concession card can upgrade their ageing and inefficient gas hot water system to an AquaPlus heat pump for around $1,006, supplied and installed by All Electric Homes.

(The final cost of the installation depends on the resident’s specific circumstances and is provided in a free, no obligation quote)

Supply & install of a new hot water heat pump (before discounts) $3,400
    VEECs incentive from Ecovantage ($560)
    STCs incentive from Ecovantage ($684)
Hot water rebate from Solar Victoria 1 ($1,000)
Concession rebate from Hume 2 ($150)
