Ecovantage First to PDRS Accreditation.

Ecovantage is excited to be one of the first certificate providers (ACP) in Australia with accreditation under the NSW Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS), coming into effect on 1 November 2022.

The primary objective of the PDRS is to create financial incentives to reduce peak demand for energy, with the Peak Period being between 2:30pm and 8:30pm (AEDT). The scheme will encourage peak demand reduction activities for both commercial and residential properties by allowing them to create Peak Energy Reduction Certificates (PERCs). The scheme has a conservative target to reduce the peak energy demand of 0.5% in the 2022/23 financial year, increasing year on year until 2030 to achieve a 10% reduction.

Under this new accreditation, Ecovantage will be creating the PERCs for a number of activities in NSW, including residential and commercial air conditioners, commercial hot water heat pumps, refrigerated display cabinets, and refrigeration and ventilation motors. It’s worth noting that these new certificates can work in tandem with the Energy Savings Certificates (ESC) to further incentivise the upgrade to devices with smart control capability.

As one of Australia’s largest ACPs, Ecovantage has the knowledge, expertise and experience to assist your organisation with your upgrade from product selection through installation and commissioning and finally certificate creation to realise the Government incentives. Contact our team of professionals today to find out more about the PDRS, energy saving schemes, and certificate creation.
