Cut Business Costs with Heat Pump Hot Water

If your small business is looking at beating rising energy costs and reducing your environmental impact, then it’s time to upgrade your hot water system. A heat pump hot water system may be the perfect solution for the water heating needs in your small business.

Understanding Heat Pump Hot Water.

Before knowing the benefits of heat pump hot water, it is important to know how the systems work. A heat pump works by extracting heat from the air or ground and uses it to heat water.

The system consists of a heat pump unit, a storage tank, and a control panel. The heat pump unit draws in air or ground-source heat and transfers it to a refrigerant. The refrigerant is then compressed, which increases its temperature. The hot refrigerant is then passed through a heat exchanger, which heats the water in the storage tank.

Energy Efficiency.

The main benefit of hot water heat pump systems is their energy efficiency. Heat pumps use approximately half the energy than conventional hot water systems. This is because they draw from heat that is already in the air or ground rather than using electricity to generate it. Because they use less energy, a heat pump system will reduce your businesses greenhouse gas emissions.

Cost Saving Benefits.

Heat pump hot water systems use much less energy because they only use electricity to drive the compressor and the fan, instead of using it to directly heat the water like other systems. This drives energy bills down and contributes to beating rising costs for small businesses.

Other than the savings on bills, the cost of upgrading to a heat pump hot water system over other traditional solutions is often far less. This is thanks to federal and state government based incentives and schemes.

Energy Savings Incentives.

State and federal government schemes allow us to upgrade your old hot water system to a heat pump hot water system for a fraction of the cost.

South Australia – REPS.
Under the Retailer Energy Productivity Scheme (REPS) program, businesses can upgrade to
energy-efficient technologies with financial incentives, including heat pumps.

Victoria – VEU.
Under the Victorian Energy Upgrades Scheme (VEU), we can swap out an eligible electric
hot water system to an energy efficient heat pump. Rebates vary and our team can provide
you a comprehensive quote.

New South Wales – HEER / ESS.
Under the NSW Energy Savings Scheme there are financial incentives available for eligible
upgrades, and under the Peak Demand Reduction Scheme you may be eligible for
further savings.

Queensland.
While there are currently no state incentives in Queensland, we can still supply and install
a new heat pump at a reduced cost thanks to federal programs. The savings are still the
same – up to 70% less energy used.

As Australia’s leading Accredited Certificate Provider (ACP), we have extensive experience in generating and trading certificates.

At Ecovantage we have installed over 5,000 heat pump units across Australia. We can help you find the right energy saving solutions for your business.
