Retailer Energy Productivity Scheme.
The Retailer Energy Productivity Scheme (REPS) is a scheme that provides incentives for South Australian households and businesses to save energy. The scheme is the successor to the Retailer Energy Efficiency Scheme (REES) that ran from 2009 to 2020. REPS aims to improve energy efficiency for households and businesses, with a strong consideration for low income households to reduce energy costs through smarter energy use.
How REPS Works.
REPS facilitates financial incentives by setting energy productivity targets (EPTs) to gas and electricity retailers (obliged retailers).
These retailers incentivise customers to reduce their energy use in order to meet their EPTs, often through discounts, rebates, vouchers, etc. for approved energy saving technologies.

How Ecovantage Fits In.
Accredited certificate providers, like Ecovantage, ensure activities and upgrades meet REPS requirements, then submit the activities to the regulator for approval. Under the REPS scheme the savings are calculated in Gigajoules (GJ) and contribute to the obligated retailer’s annual total.
At Ecovantage we offer end-to-end projects solutions, from current-state assessment through to project implementation and certificate generation. We also work with a network of trusted installers to carry out projects on our behalf, and our industry-leading Compliance team undertake project review and certificate applications for other energy organisations.
